Maya called you

Maya is SightSync's AI recall specialist. Your optical practice uses her to remind patients who may be due for an eye examination. She calls on their behalf, explains why, and offers to book.

Why did I receive this call?

Your optical practice uses SightSync to remind lapsed patients about overdue eye tests. Eye health monitoring is time-sensitive: conditions like glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and myopia progression can worsen without regular checks. Your practice is reaching out because they have a duty of care to their patients.

Is this call legitimate?

Yes. Maya is used exclusively by registered UK optical practices to contact their existing patients. Every call starts by disclosing that Maya is an AI: she never pretends to be human. SightSync complies with PECR (Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations) and UK GDPR.

I don't want to receive these calls

You can opt out immediately and permanently in three ways: (1) press 0 during any Maya call. She ends immediately, no questions asked. (2) Reply STOP to any WhatsApp message or text from your practice. (3) Click the opt-out link in any message you received. Once opted out, Maya will never call or message you from that practice again.

Check if the number that called you is registered

You can enter the number that called you on our number verification page to confirm it is a registered SightSync practice and see which optician it belongs to.

If you received a text or WhatsApp message

If the AI call went unanswered, your practice may have followed up with a WhatsApp message or email as an alternative way to reach you. These contain a one-click booking link so you can schedule at a time that suits you.

Every message also contains a personal opt-out link. Clicking it will remove you from all future recall messages from that practice immediately. No login or account needed.

Verify a call was real

After every AI call, SightSync sends a follow-up text with a unique link you can visit to confirm the call was genuinely from your practice, not a scammer. If you received such a link, click it to see the practice name, call time, and a confirmation that it was real.

If you received a suspicious call that asked for payment details, your NHS number, or a password, it was not from SightSync. Report it to Action Fraud.
